The journey to passing the licensure exam is marked by diverse investments of time and effort. Some candidates dedicated themselves to rigorous review center programs, while others spent countless nights immersed in study. Many sacrificed precious moments with loved ones to focus on memorizing and reading. Ultimately, 58.7% of examinees have honed their skills and secured their place in the industry, showcasing their dedication and mastery of the craft.
The next steps are already outlined by the PRC for architects who passed the ALE. They will need to complete the initial registration for their Professional IDs and Certificate of Registration. Passers are encouraged to prepare their documents, including a Community Tax Certificate (cedula), a printed and duly accomplished Oath form, and two ID pictures (2×2 size, colored, plain white background).
A question arises after the grandeur of passing the ALE: Newly Licensed Architect, what to do next?
Self Reflection and Pause
“Realign your goals and plans. After reaching a goal, find out what you want to do next, it doesn’t have to be something big agad, it can be something small and achievable to keep the ball rolling, baby steps!”
-Ar. Jonas Nazareth
Resting and pausing for a while does not imply quitting or being weak. Imagine the feeling when you have just completed your first blueprint for a luxury house. Remember taking a small step back to appreciate what you have accomplished so far and to plan your next steps? Sometimes, stepping back gives you a greater view and a wider perspective. Take this time to acknowledge the elegance of being a certified architect, built on five years of dedication and excellence. Baby steps may take longer to reach your destination, but they will surely make you more confident in taking bigger and bolder steps on your own.
Niche & Field Assessment
“Know which fields I am best capable of, most comfortable with, and had the most fun at. Then weigh which of the three do I think I could live by and move forward.”
-Ar. Geo Angelo Delos Santos
Gather your portfolio, update your resume, and organize your certificates in one place. Decide whether you want to join a company that shares your career vision or create your own practice. Consider the niche you want to pursue in your field. Do you want to focus on retail design and construction, or house and residential design and construction? Don’t be afraid to explore and learn more about the specialty that interests you. Define the unique thing about your style and techniques in designing and creating an architecture.
Francisco “Bobby” Mañosa became a renowned and famous architect, recognized as the Father of Philippine Neo-vernacular Architecture, through his unwavering belief and firm decision to revitalize Filipino architecture. Stay ambitious
“Know who you are as an architect and everything will follow”
– Ar. Heesoen Arevalo

Failure might be a byproduct of taking risks and trying, but learning is the reward from all your failures. Now, you have earned the privilege to explore the best architectural designs and discover which construction techniques align with your style. Use those five years of studying, 2 years of apprenticeship, and 6 months of review and dedicate it to craftsmanship and to build yourself up. This is the only way to secure your spot in the competitive field. After all, how can one build something out of nothing? While people may think that the shaft, soil, columns, and beams are the foundation of a great design, it is the architect who truly bears the weight of that elegant house, the renovated office space, and the luxurious designed coffee shop. It is rooted in how deeply the art is embedded in the science practiced by the architect. It reflects how far the vision looks into the future and trusts the journey along the way.
Take, for example, our Director of Business Management, Ar. Heesoen Arevalo, Founder of Eacco. Be unmeasurable
“A great building must begin with the unmeasurable, must go through measurable means when it is being designed and in the end must be unmeasurable.”
– Louis Kahn
Just as Louis Khan envisions constructing a building, the Newly Licensed Architects must have their vision expressed and speak their style and imagination with confidence & trust in it.
Eacco Design + Construction proudly celebrates alongside the 1,052 successful examinees. The company extends its heartfelt congratulations, inspired by Louis Kahn’s wisdom. Earning the title of ‘Architect‘ is a testament to the dedication and hard work invested from the first day of college to the final moments of licensure exam preparation.
